Visitor Centre for contemporary glass art
Transformation of an aboundoned brick building into a center for glass art. The center provides workshops that are organized for visits and experience of the workshop process. A ramp solution contributes to walk through the process is available to all visitors.
There was basically no communication between ground floor and 1. floor.

By making a visual cut in the existing floor, the wood flooring is recycled, and It seems like the floor is cut and lowered to the ground level. The ramp is moving around the main feature and hanging in the existing roof structure.

The ramp’s total length is 78 meters and width of the ramp is 1.7 meters. The original wooden floor is put together, with underlying H-beams. To avoid that ramp flip, it’s two wire parts connected to each underlying beam criss cross. This is fastened with hook and turnbuckle, which is used to keep the wire tight.
